You have recently been appointed to your local Councils Business Development unit. Feedback from local businesses suggests that a new retail park on the outskirts of the town is reducing footfall and spending. These local businesses are very concerned. Meetings with the Business Development Unit and these local traders have resulted in some training and support from the unit being developed.
You have been asked to produce a 1,000 word leaflet to help these local businesses understand how to market their products and services. Remember to support your leaflet with relevant theories and concepts. Consider and provide examples to support your reasoning. You are marked on the content and presentation.
This leaflet should present differing marketing techniques that could be applied. You should consider how these techniques could differ from business to business from a local perspective. Within the techniques debate the limitations and constraints. How could they help these businesses improve the offering? Would there be any disadvantages?
You should also present how market research could help these businesses create a marketing plan to help them long term. Finally, you should discuss the cultural differences can impact the effectiveness of their marketing message. What should they consider? When writing think about;
