For this assignment, consider the following scenario:

You have just graduated from the Digital Marketing Specialist Program at College and are feeling ambitious with your thorough understanding of digital marketing and its related practical skills.

You have decided to launch your own digital agency start-up called New Growth Digital. Your services include social media marketing (both paid and organic), content creation, email marketing, and SEO.

Thankfully, you have managed to attract your first client - Star Gifts. Star Gifts is a local dollar store that sells products such as kitchenware, household cleaning products, and home organizers.

After several meetings with the CEO and marketing executives at Star Gifts, your understanding is that the executive teams are ready to take the company digitally and start selling online. To date, the team has successfully developed an eCommerce website, capable of selling any of their products online via website sales. Their main target audience consists of females between the ages of 25-35.

However, Star Gifts is struggling with meeting their target digital sales. This year they would like to increase web sales by 10%. Your job as the Digital Marketing Specialist is to develop a strategy regarding digital marketing initiatives: social media marketing (paid and organic), content creation, and email marketing.

 

Star Gifts have provided you with some incentives they are willing to promote:

• 10% OFF All Online Store Items

• BOGO (buy-one-get-one) 50% off

Each platform would require an advertising cost of $1000/month. Star Gifts has informed you that they have a maximum budget of $6000/month, for a period of six (6) months.

 

ASSIGNMENT STEPS

Part 1: Strategize.

Your first step is to strategize: develop a complete social media marketing strategy (and its associated components) for Star Gifts, based on the information provided in the case.

The following must be addressed when developing your social media strategy:

• Social media content creation

• Email marketing content creation

• Email marketing campaign draft

• Paid ads campaign drafting

• Setting up and optimizing social media platforms

• Outline analytic benchmarks and KPIs

Operationalize the strategy previously developed by developing an action plan. Explain using the five Ws how you would execute your social media strategy. Included budgeting, as provided in the case.

 

Part 2: Implement and execute your action plan.

Now that you have your social media strategy set up and how you would execute it, your next task is to physically execute everything you have planned.

For example, develop the actual Facebook page and appropriate banners based off of your social media strategy.

 

Part 3: Showcase

Having met all of the criteria listed, satisfying Star Gift's digital needs, present your creations and results in a creative manner (screen recording, infographics, presentation slides, etc.) to showcase your work and professionalism.
