Project Overview-
The purpose of this project is for you to pretend that you work in a hypothetical RTO that is enrolling a new learner into a BSB30715 Certificate III in Work Health and Safety. You will need to identify the LLN requirements of the course and the LLN skill levels of your learner. You will then compare these to determine whether there is a gap between the learner’s current skill levels and those required by the course (if none exist you will use hypothetical skill needs to complete this project). After evaluating the learner and the course, you will identify resources, specialist support and strategies that will help your learner – then apply these in a practical session. You will then interview the learner to gather feedback on your chosen methods and determine ways in which you can improve your performance in future.

You will require one (1) participant for this project. They will be playing the part of a ‘learner’, so when the assessment instructions refer to your learner, they’re talking about your participant.

Questions-
1. Analyse units of competency to determine the LLN requirements of a qualification.
2. Conduct an LLN evaluation on a real vocational learner, using an LLN Indicator Tool.
3. Compare the LLN requirements of the qualification to the LLN skill levels of the learner, using a spiky profile to identify any LLN needs.
4. Research resources, support strategies, instructional strategies, assessment strategies and specialist advice available to support your learner’s identified LLN needs (if no real needs have been identified, then you will use two hypothetical LLN needs to complete the rest of this project).
5. Select appropriate strategies (instructional, assessment and support) to support your learner. Then customise two existing learning resources to support the identified LLN needs. Utilise these strategies and resources in a practical session with your participant (who is acting as your learner).
6. Conduct a follow up session with your participant to gather their feedback on your chosen strategies, identifying what you did well and what can be improved.
7. Based on the feedback collected, determine how you could improve your training and assessment practices, then discuss your proposed improvements with your participant.
