In addition to LSC Common Assessment and Academic Marking Criteria, students are expected to meet the following threshold descriptors for a pass grade.
LO1: Develop advanced knowledge and understanding on key theories and models of strategic human resource management and the key trends and issues in the current development of SHRM in the global environment. These learning outcomes are captured through task one, and two of the assignment (i) Identify the stages of the employee life cycle of the selected organisation and list the existing strategic human resource management practices in place. (ii) Critically evaluate each stage of identified life cycle element for its models/tools in use, pros and cons against SHRM theories in the global context.
The learner is expected to express a deep understanding of SHRM theories and models while mapping them into a real-time organisation that demonstrates the knowledge of a manager, critically evaluate them, analyse the HR plans and understand the key issues to plot a plan for implementation.
LO2: Develop a comprehensive understanding on the role of managers in developing strategic HRM system within organisations, key models and tools for planning, recruiting, selecting process and how to design and effective performance management and appraisal strategies to develop and retain talent within organisations. LO3: Critically evaluate and analyse the implementation of Strategic HR plans within organisations and High Involvement Work System, in creating competitive advantages within organisations. LO4: Critical reflection and apply different SHRM developments and practices in various business sectors and develop an effective training and appraisal strategy to create high performance organisations These learning outcomes are captured through task three of the assignment (i) Develop a strategic HR implementation plan, with an assortment of proposed tools and theories, to uplift the existing HR system to a self-identified global best practices benchmark and to overcome the cons identified in task two.
