The Tasmanian devil is threatened by extinction due to a clonally transmissible cancer, the Tasmanian Devil Facial Tumour Disease. Your job is to try to understand the cancer and try to develop treatment options, that could either target oncogenes (supress them) or tumour suppressor genes (activate them). But first, you have to find oncogenes and tumour suppressor genes in the Tasmanian devil genome.
To identify proto-oncogenes or tumour suppressor genes in the Tasmanian devil genome.
