Question 1
Fluid 1 line with SG= Y is connected to a pressure gauge through a double U-manometer. If the reading of the pressure gage is A kPa, determine the gage pressure of the fluid 1 pipe.
Note 1: Take water density to be ρw = 1000kg/m3, and g = 9.81m/s2

Note 2: Take the last 3 digits of your student ID to be A (e.g. for a student ID of 123456789, A is equal to 789).
Note 3: Take the 6th and 7 th digit of your student ID divided by 100 to be X (e.g. for a student ID of 123456789, X is equal to 0.67).
Note 4: Take the 5th and 6th digit of your student ID divided by 10 to be Y (e.g. for a student ID of 123456789, Z is equal to 5.6).
Note 5: Take the last 2 digits of your student ID to be Z (e.g. for a student ID of 123456789, Z is equal to 89 m).

Question 2
A 25-mm thick steel-gate of 15-m by 8-m size, and specific gravity of 7.8 is hinged, to store flash-flooding water. The density of water, at standard temperature condition, is 990 kg/m3. Compute the water level h for which the gate starts to fall.
