Question 3:  Create two separate ladder diagrams on Codesys to carry out the following tasks below. It is not required to show simulations. Two digital outputs (OUT1 and OUT2) are controlled by three internal relays (IR0, IR1 and IR2). The three internal relays are instantaneously calculated as follows:

a. IR0 energised if either or both input IN0 and IN1 are activated.
b. IR1 is energised if and only if both the inputs IN2 and IN3 are energised.

c. IR2 is energised when either one, but not both, IN4 and IN5 are energised and de-
energised when both or none are energised.

a) Program 1: OUT1 is active only if all three internal relays are active simultaneously. 
b) Program 2: OUT2 is set if any one or more internal relays are active, otherwise OUT1 is
reset. 

Question 4: 
a) Draw up a truth table containing IR0, IR1 and IR3 and show when OUT1 and OUT2 will be high or low. 
b) Re-write the program in question 3 in Structure Text with Codesys 

Question 5:  Write a LD program that can serve as an elementary fire alarm system. Fire sensors with N.O. outputs, provide inputs to a SET-RESET function block so that if any one or more of the sensors are activated, the alarm is set and remains set until it is cleared by a Reset pushbutton. (For simplicity sake, take number of sensors as 3).
a) Create a PLC Ladder Diagram to implement the fire alarm system. 
b) Visually simulate your solution and show that correct results are obtained.

Scenario
a) In an LD program, two INT input variables, x and y, are supplied to a function block youwrote in ST.

b) The function block calculates output z from variables x and y, where z = 5 + x y+2
