1. You can use the following guidelines in your modelling.

2. The chromosome length is the number of suburbs involved in the tour which decides the length of the route.
 

3. Each suburb must be visited only once. Therefore, each gene representing a suburb can appear only once in the chromosome. Therefore, there can be no duplicates in the chromosome and there can be no omitted suburbs.
 

4. You can create a chromosome containing all the suburb’s unique index.
 

5. Create the initial population with given number of individuals and each individual having suburbs whose x,y coordinates are randomly created.
 

6. Once a route is established between the suburbs, keep the individual with the ordered list of suburbs following the route.
 

7. As there is no known final target fitness, terminate the evolution after the given number of generations. The fitness should improve after each generation.
 

8. Use tournament selection method for the selection of parents during crossover.

 

Parameters to be used

1. Number of Generations: 500

2. Population size: 30

3. Chromosome length:15

An individual will have 15 genes which are the randomly created suburbs.

4. Elitism count: 2

5. Mutation rate: Choose appropriate value

6. Crossover rate: choose appropriate value

7. Tournament size: 5
