In numerical methods, the region under consideration should be terminated by certain boundary conditions. Two common types of boundary conditions are Dirichlet and Neumann boundary conditions.
1) Write qualitatively (in one or two paragraphs), what are the Neumann and Dirichlet boundary conditions used in the numerical method.
2) write an expression for these boundary conditions (in the form of a divergence etc. for Neumann) and explain the implications of the expressions.


Problems-2: [10 pts]
To solve the magnetic vector potential (m. v. p.) equation, continuous function A(x, y) must be discretized in a 2D space such that we only define the value of A at certain discrete points in the region. These points are the vertices of the triangles in a triangular mesh of the region (Refer lecture 7). To extrapolate A-field inside the triangle, we use the defined value of A at the three vertex-points, Al, Am, An. We further use linear extrapolation polynomials Ll(x, y), Lm(x, y), Ln(x, y).
