Business Overview

You work for a small business that supplies office supplies for small to medium businesses within your region. The business has started to expand, and the CEO has asked you to consider future Human Resource Services for the Business. There are two business partners who own the business and a total staff of eight (8), - three administration staff, one finance manager and two sales staff. Projected plans are that over the next 12 months there will be an additional three staff members employed. An additional member will be added to the Sales Team. This business has been operating for five years and has a good reputation for providing quality customer service. However, there is a high level of staff turnover within the business. Employees complain about not getting recognised or rewarded for their hard work. Employees have observed some bullying behaviours from some (what they perceive to be) incompetent managers. They have complained, but no actions or improvements are ever made. No one has a current Position Description within the organisation; everyone is too busy. They have never held appraisal meetings, and employees are not sure whom they should report to. Salaries are good, but they are not revised on a regular basis. Some people get paid more than others.

Task

a) Prepare a comprehensive HR Action Plan for the business. Ensure that your Action Plan reflects full descriptions and solutions for all current issues and feedback received so far. Your document must include:

· Separately detailed and explained actions – how employees were surveyed, ongoing feedback processes and analysis of feedback and recommended changes, which will explain and reflect on the ROI for the business;

· Processes to be followed for consulting with line and senior managers to identify HR needs in their areas;

· Documented roles and responsibilities of stakeholders

· Strategies for managing diversity and environmental factors

· Options for delivery of HR services that comply with legislative requirements, organisational policies and business goals Relevant policies and procedures including confidentiality requirements, code of conduct and prompt attention to unethical behaviours

· Costs for implementing the Action Plan;

· Time frames for implementation of actions;

· Align any actions to the Business/Corporate Plan and Operational Plan including identifying and arranging training support.

b) Prepare a report to the CEO, explaining the action plan and seeking approval for this Action Plan. Include in your report how your planning processes relate to the business and operational plan.
