Your project home is to be constructed using timber framing in a non-cyclonic wind classification zone – category N2. You are required to design the timber framing
members in accordance with the AS1684 Residential Timber-Framed Construction.
To answer the questions in this section, you are required to utilise the appropriate AS1684 and Hyspan tables, floor plans and elevations, located on vUWS under
Assessment 3 folder.
QUESTION 1 TO 6 – Wall and Roof framing (16 marks)
Using the tables from AS1684, calculate the minimum size of the nominated timber
members using Section A-A of your project home. NB: Drawings indicate a tiled,

For the span across the laundry, hall and WC to the bathroom (and assuming that the roof is configured as detailed below with a load-bearing wall between the WC and bathroom) determine the minimum size of each of the roof members nominated, given that you must use SEASONED timber or Hyspan as stated. (Rafters at 450mm centres)
