Assessment 4 – Project Report v Introduction (500-750 words) v Provide background that put the research into context, outlines what we know / don’t know about the research area, identify key knowledge gaps and illustrate why these are important to address, and finally state an aim or objective and associated hypotheses and/or expected outcomes. v Materials & Methods (250-500 words) v Describe in concise plain language what you did and what you measured. A satisfactory methods section provides enough detail and clarity that another researcher can repeat the experiment. Assessment 4 – Project Report v Results (250-500 words):

v Present your key findings in graphs and/or tables, and describe succinctly in the text your key findings using clear language referring to the graphs/tables to visualize the results. The length of the results section will depend strongly on what type of data is being presented, but keep it short. You can interpret the results (i.e. explain what they mean) but do not discuss results in this section. v Discussion (500-750 words): v Reflect on your key findings, how they relate to current knowledge, and clearly state what your conclusion is, referring back to the hypothesis outlined in the introduction. It can be useful to start your discussion by highlighting your key findings and whether these support your hypothesis, then discuss how your results fit with other studies and what might be causing the patterns that you see. Finish the discussion with a summary paragraph that reiterate your main finding(s) and tell the reader how this has influenced the field of research and what the broader implications of your findings may be.
